Leading the way towards a better you!
Aboriginal Training & Employment Centre (ATEC) The Aboriginal Training & Employment Centre (ATEC) is funded through Service Canada’s Indigenous Skills and Employment Training (ISET) program. ATEC supports First Nations and urban/non-affiliated Indigenous people across the Central Interior of British Columbia to access training, build skills, and connect with meaningful employment opportunities.
This year, ISET supported:
- 452 Indigenous clients through ISET-funded interventions
- 58 Daycare Seats in On-Reserve Daycare Centers
- 3 On-Reserve Daycare Centers with Repairs & Renovations
Background: Since April 1, 1996, ATEC has successfully delivered Indigenous labour market programming through an integrated, community-focused approach. Guided by strong partnerships, responsive skills development, and a commitment to accountability and results, ATEC helps clients prepare for, secure, and maintain employment in high-demand fields.
ATEC’s ongoing purpose is to increase Indigenous participation in the labour market while offering flexible, culturally responsive supports that reflect the diverse needs of Indigenous people, communities, and employers.
